After I retired as a Medical Technologist, I began substitute teaching at the local high school.
I printed and laminated several inspirational quotes. Each day I substituted; I would select one to hang on the board in class. After the bell rang and everyone was seated, I would put the quote on the board. As most students are concerned about the assignment when their teacher is absent, they would watch what I was doing hoping it was not class work. Sometimes the students would comment on it but most of the time, no one said anything. But what I do know, is they read it.
Usually, we never know if we have influenced someone along our journey. All we can do is put it out there.
