A shepherd would guide his flock and keep them on the right path and out of harm’s way. Occasionally, a sheep would stray, and the shepherd would have to restore the sheep to the flock. We stray and The Good Shepherd searches for us and leads us back onto the path of righteousness.

Many times in my life, I have taken the wrong path. Sometimes, it was what I though God wanted me to do, but most of the time, it was just me wanting to do my own thing.

“Sometimes the right path is not the easiest one.” — Grandmother Willow, Pocahontas

In our culture, we expect instant gratification. We usually do choose the easiest path and the one that will give us what we want now.

Many times I have gone in a different direction than God intended. I experienced the consequences and then a wonderful thing happened. God put me back on the path He had for me.

Are you on your own path? Are you listening to God’s direction for you?
