But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. I am embarrassed to say, but this makes me think of the Three Little Pigs. The first little pig built his house out of straw because it was easy. The second little pig built his house out of sticks, which was a little stronger. The third little pig built his house out of bricks. We all know what happened to the first two houses. However, the third little pig used brick, which was sturdy and protected them from the big bad wolf.

Do you see a correlation? We need to build a strong foundation. Having a firm spiritual foundation comes in handy in fighting off satan. Facing everyday trials and struggles are much easier with the knowledge we receive from reading and studying God’s word.
